The Parable of the Sperm and Egg

When a sperm tries to fertilize an egg, it approaches the egg head on, but often fails. Then the sperm moves slightly and tries again. This nudging happens repeatedly at a very fast pace. The sperm does not give up and will try different approaches until it is either successful penetrates the egg or dies.

We often forget this when we communicate to another person. It is not the other persons job to “open up” to your style of communication, it is your job to alter your course and try different approaches until the message is finally heard. Does it sound like it is hard work and exhausting? Yes is it. But like anything in life, the benefits will outweigh the effort; and the reward (when you finally penetrate the surface and come to an understanding) is truly remarkable.
